As I've been telling the world and anyone who'd listen, I'm moving into a new flat in a month's time which means I only have one thing on the brain right now: Decorating! What I love most about my new little home, is the fact that it's a sunny, open loft space that's just begging to be adorned with warmth and prettiness. So here are some of the Pinterest pics cluttering my mind this very second ♥

Meanwhile, in between the Pinterest browsing, I've also been scouring the pages of local craft site We Heart It and come across these lovelies that are now sitting firmly at the top of my shopping list:
Once I've settled in, you simply must come for tea ♥
This post is hideously delayed, I know, so for the next 3 minutes I'd like you to pretend that today is in fact the day after Christmas and be super impressed by how rapidly I got this post up. Reset brain, and GO --->
As you might remember from this post, I had a bit of a dilemma yesterday (on Christmas day ;-) when I realised that I had (stupidly) volunteered to decorate the Christmas table. 'Freak out' is an understatement. So with no time to ransack the shops, I had to make do with what we had lying around the house and garden, which is how this white + yellow + lime recycled table came into being.
1. Newspaper table cloth, mainly because I ALWAYS mess. 2. Glass jars as juice tumblers with double straws, & halved lemons/limes as place card holders. 3. A pretty gardenia ("katjiepiering") under each glass.
1. Freshly picked garden flowers in recycled glass bottles + wooden crate. 2. Yellow/lime A4 paper as place mats. 3. Cutlery, straws, jars and glasses decorated with tan raffia string.
Apologies for the bad pictures and colour. Quite frankly, I blame the camera. What's that, camera? Oh, he says, "yes - I screwed up".
Hi my name is @teaTippler, I'm a copywriter and I suck at Scrabble.
Does that mean I don't want to tile my bathroom floor with Scrabble chips and have them embedded in my grave stone? Of course not! I'm not mad. About a year ago I scavenged around my gran's games cupboard and came across a Scrabble set that was, most conveniently, missing a couple of tiles. And like any keen 80-something Scrabbler will tell you, "Scrabble isn't Scrabble without those missing tiles, so Charn can go ahead and create some awesomeness. Seriously, bro, it's cool."
So far I've managed to whip together...
Scrabble brooches
Scrabble fridge magnets - FUN!
A Scrabble ring - stolen, sadly.
Some might say I lost it, but I beg to differ.
And lady Claire Lofthouse brought me this little lovely all the way from London! So spoiled, am I.
Yet it's still not enough! *Manic grin. Here's what's still on the Scrabble list (is this list written in Scrabble tiles? Let's say yes.)
I don't know about you, but I have this mental shopping-slash-want-slash-wishlist going on in my brain that pretty much gets updated on a daily basis. At the moment I'd say the list is about sixteen kilometers long which makes me think that I probably won't have a problem in compiling a gift registry for my wedding one day. But seriously, enough babble. Here's a low-down of the current chart toppers...
1. An assortment of odd chairs: Since I'm not working from home anymore, I've decided to turn my awesome white trestle table desk (a lucky Gumtree find) into a dining table - loving this chair idea:
2. Canteloupe: The season of sweet juicy happiness is almost over so I'm literally chowing this every other day. They're becoming harder and harder to come by, and it won't be long before the cantaloupe strikes the fan. Sob.
5. Quirky coasters: I can't shout LOVE loud enough (would if I could, but my boss is sitting in the next office). On a more serious note, I would fight a lion for ANY one of these and touch an octopus with my bare hands. OK, no, I probably won't do the octopus thing, but anyway - if you spot any coaster gems (that won't cost me a kidney and two toes) give me a shout :)
6. Pink's latest CD: I never thought I'd see the day when Pink made it back onto my playlist, but alas! Over the last couple of months her sweet tunes have stolen my heart. ThÃs little Nate Ruess number completely knocked my socks off and is now stuck in my brain like a stubborn splinter. Don't judge me.
7. A pastel kettle: Every time I see one, I cry a little when I think of the fact that it's not standing on my kitchen counter. Does it have to be pink? Not at all, darling - any colour you choose to give me for my birthday is just fine.
8. A wrist tattoo: Something small, simple and timeless that won't hurt too much, you know? [I can just hear the tattoo pro's shaking with laughter right now.]
No, no, TeaTippler, dear - it's already here! *face palm.
This morning I finally had to make peace with the fact that it's no longer October and that I have some serious catching up to do in terms of holiday spirit. I have not bought a single gift, haven't given a single thought to what my "special dish" for the family dinner will be and apparently, from what I've been told, I volunteered to do the table decor. In fact, I'm so unprepared this year that I'm literally waiting for the Ghost of Christmas Past to jump out from behind a lamp post and shout, "Doom on you! Doom on you!"
So, today's post is really more for my benefit than yours - selfish, I know. Seeing as every single shop is a battlefield this time of year (angry shoppers demanding more minced pies, shop assistants crying in the fresh produce section, screaming toddlers slinging milk bottles against the baking shelf because there's no more Ultra Mel), I've decided to rely on my freaking awesome DIY skills (subtext: Pinterest, help!) Nobody sprained any brain muscles there, is what you're probably thinking. But hopefully all of you who find yourself in the same predicament as me will be able to draw a little inspiration from this mixing bowl of prettiness! Happy Holidays!

I am in love. His name is Typo and we met at Cavendish a two days ago. We simply can't get enough of each other and I've seen him four times in the past two days. I haven't had time to snap pics of my new liefie yet, so I borrowed these lovely snapshots off iwantthat's site - just another of Typo's many love lorn admirers who'd lost their hearts between the shelves of paper, notebooks and pretty trinkets.
Welcome home, Tea Tippler.
Yes. Typo is a store. The most magical corner of the universe I have ever floated into on purposely by accident. Apparently there's one in Canal Walk too (why has no one ever mentioned this to me? WHY?) and the new one in Cavendish only opened last week. If you're as addicted to pretty stationery as I am, you must, simply must hop on by and spoil your desk with prettiness.
I'm going back yet again this afternoon to buy my birthday gift from my momsy, so prepare yourself for one major brag post.
Marry me, Typo, marry me! But let's not get hung up on pre-nups, 'kay?
